I have bought thousands of items from K-bid...driven all over the state getting good deals...as well as lessons in trusting affiliates and how they describe their products. Some affiliates were flat out crooks--misrepresenting items, charging you EXTRA because your bill was under $20...and some that had no customer service skills at all. (IE---showing up an hour late for THEIR OWN REMOVAL TIME---THEN REPORTING ME ON A $2 ITEM THAT I DIDNT PAY FOR BECAUSE I HAD TO GO TO WORK AND COULDNT WAIT!) Most affiliates were nice...polite...and kind. When it first started there was a hardworking one legged guy in Ramsey who did a very good job. Lee Ann does a nice job as does K and C auctions. I m sure I know others- but these stick out most. I have also SOLD several auctions and MADE K-Bid THOUSANDS of dollars in revenue. I am well versed in live and online auctions.
I must say I have backed way off from all online interactions as the affiliates are just not honest towards their customers--and treat them with any value. Auction pick up times that favor the affiliate but no one else--unless you are unemployed or retired (neither of which I qualify as)
But I really got a bad taste in my mouth when I contacted a local affiliate to sell a couple of pricey collectables. The affiliate was gung ho to sell them...gushing how well they should sell and how excited he was. Then he told me he would charge 35% sellers premium and I was blown away. Um...you are snapping a couple pictures...writing a couple lines...and uploading the lot to a web site. Couple that 35% with the 13% buyers premium and Kbid as a whole is making close to 50% profit for something they do not own. PT Barnum guided me out the door never to return.
In conclusion- they are pricing themselved out of a market they used to have a lock on. They have gone from 5-7 pages of ngoing auctions..to 2-3. Who wants to give money to a company that does nothing for the buyer or the seller?
Go to Bid2buy...tcbid..maybe 4bid.... lower prices and a company that actually cares about its customers.
Oh--and like the other guys review.... I ALSO was yelled at and threatened after not sticking around for my $2.00 item---EVEN THOUGH the affiliate was at fault.
In summary, I would not recommend K-Bid to a friend.
