Editor's Review:

ePier is a functional auctioning website with selling options that won’t cost you a cent. You can list items for free and won’t have to pay a percentage on sales, meaning all the profit goes direct into your pocket (or more likely your bank account). This free service is fine, although quite basic, so you may wish to upgrade to the premium service, which costs a little extra.

The Premium membership benefits are particularly useful if you wish to set up a store. They allow your customers to “buy now” rather than wait for an auction, and they can also purchase multiple store items and put them in their shopping basket, making checking out and payment much easier.

If you want to make your store stand out from the crowd, then you can also personalize it with icons and colours which aren’t available to standard members. The polling options might also be useful if you’re interested in getting a bit of customer feedback. For example you could ask which of several new products your customers would like you to stock, and get instant responses.

There are a few community features which are worth a peek, including a forum. However we would like to see more information in the FAQ. Although there are three separate Frequently Asked Questions sections, depending on your experience, they are relatively brief.  If in doubt you can check the technical support forum or send an email to their support team.

Sales categories are numerous, with thousands of items in some areas and just 3 or 4 (or even zero) in others. Sales pages can include plenty of information on a product, and multiple photos to help you give a proper idea of how the item looks.

We did find that some items were quite expensive, particularly if you opted for the “buy now” choice, but this might be because sellers can set a reserve price and are not always willing to go below a certain point. This differs from some auction sites, which have no reserves and, as such, buyers can get massive discounts.

The site has over 200,000 visitors a month, which isn’t bad but is nothing when compared with the big players in online auctioning. As such, you’re less likely to find a buyer, but you also get to keep 100% of the profits. Subsequently this site might be better for you if you’ve something you’d like to make money on but you’re not in a massive hurry to sell.
